Lengths of reed have been fixed over the layers of watercolour flowers and tissue paper discs to add a layer of fretwork, that makes it appear as though the previous layers of flowers are growing behind this.
The placement of the reeds over the design has muted some of the colours making them appear duller, whilst making other colours seem brighter, differences are due to the juxtaposition of colours.

Thank you. I love the way all the colours work together…some complimentary, some contrasting, some analogous…textures are my ‘big’ driver, hence the reason for introducing different textures to just the watercolours. More to be added, this is still a work in progress.
